The new executive of PEI Mutual Insurance Co. was recently elected following the Company's 2014 Annual Meeting held on April 8th, 2014. Incoming President, Gordon Vessey(right) accepts the gavel from outgoing President, Brian Annear.

At the recent Annual Meeting of PEI Mutual Insurance Company, Rudy Smith, the Corporate Treasurer, commented that the Company ended the year with a net income of $1.1 million. A large increase in claim payments had a significant negative impact on the financial results, as compared to the previous year. The majority of this increase resulted from damage caused by the perils of fire and water escape. It was noted that the Board of Directors have declared a 10% mutual rebate for 2014, to be given as a discount or reduction in premium at the time of policy renewal.

NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING

The Annual Meeting of the Members of the Prince Edward Island Mutual Insurance Company will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 340 Notre Dame Street, Summerside, P.E.I. on the 8th day of April, 2014, at 2:00 p.m.

The purpose of the meeting is to receive the financial statements and the auditor’s report for 2013; to elect directors; to appoint auditors; and to transact other business which may properly be brought before the meeting.

PEI Mutual Insurance Company is excited to announce our 2014 Photo Contest.  We wish to obtain Island Scenes for use in our annual customized calendar.  We invite amateur photographers to take part in this exciting competition with the theme: “Prince Edward Island Scenes”

We will require photos for all seasons (Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall).  Prizes will be awarded for winning entries!
