The new executive of PEI Mutual Insurance Co. was recently elected following the Company’s 2013 Annual Meeting held at the Royal Canadian Legion, in Summerside. Incoming President, Brian Annear (right) accepts the gavel from outgoing President, Percy Affleck.

Outgoing President, Percy Affleck, commented that PEI Mutual had a very successful year in 2012, both financially and with regard to protecting PEI’s environment. Financially, the Company added $2.7 million to its Policyholders’ surplus, ensuring continued financial stability for its members. Mr. Affleck also noted that much progress was made with regard to reducing the negative environmental impact of oil spills on PEI. Since 2011, PEI Mutual has offered more than $150,000 in direct payment incentives towards outdoor steel oil tank replacements.

NOTICE OF ANNUAL MEETING

The Annual Meeting of the Members of the Prince Edward Island Mutual Insurance Company will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 340 Notre Dame Street, Summerside, P.E.I. on the 9th day of April, 2013, at 2:00 p.m.

The purpose of the meeting is to receive the financial statements and the auditors report for 2012; to elect directors; to appoint auditors; and to transact other business which may properly be brought before the meeting.
